B. Lee Entertainment Partners with Miami Gardens Councilman Reggie Leon and Local Businesses for A Successful Back to School Book Bag Drive For the 6th Year
As the 2020-2021 school year quickly approaches with many uncertainties and new challenges, one thing is certain B. Lee Entertainment along with Miami Gardens Councilman Reggie Leon and several local businesses, have enriched the lives of students by giving away over 300 book bags filled with supplies suited for virtual learning.
Preparing for this school year during a global pandemic is no easy feat. This year unlike previous years, families have been hit hard by the impacts of Covid19 which is why B. Lee Entertainment CEO, Brian Lee, decided to make sure he was able to help.
“We’ve all been affected in some way by Covid19. This year, it was especially important to pull resources together to make sure students and families had one less thing to worry about,” said Lee. After an outpouring of community support, through monetary donations and school supplies, Brian and his team were able to secure more supplies than ever before. This year’s focus centered around making sure students would have supplies specific to virtual learning which included headphones, and USB drives.
“These kids have been through a lot, and there was no way we were going to fail them considering all they are dealing with,” Lee continued. “It’s always been important for me to give back to the community I grew up in. That’s why we’ve come together to do our part in helping kids be prepared when school starts.”
In keeping with safety measures, this year’s Back to School Drive was set up as a drive through so that families could safely receive bags. “This was such a blessing for my family. Being out of work I really had no idea how I was going to get the things they needed,” said one mother at the Book Bag Drive.
In the last 6 years, the B. Lee’s Annual Back to School Drive has resulted in the collection of over 6,000 school supplies for students in Miami-Dade County and this year the effort was even more appreciated.
